Options Are Always Good...

This is not your typical "type your url click submit" sort of deal. We're a bit more versatile than that. We do have some special options for small, medium and large commerical business but those will be mentioned at the very end because the majority of people who are going to be reading this will be more of your non-profit / hobbiest / average joe types, so we don't wanna bore you from the get go.

We've got a bunch of different options because we know that you're just on the Internet, doing your own thing. We know that your own thing is going to be different than everyone elses thing. So, we'd like to at least try to toss you something a little more personalized that with any luck -- will meet your more specific needs, wants and desires.

Some of you will be BBS Scene Sysops. Others might be into Fresh Water Fish or Ham Radio. Some might be SciFi Geeks with a vast library of exactly how many times Picard uttered "Make It So!" ... The more technical of you might be running some Helpdesk Forums and Download Mirrors. Some of you might work for a Non-Profit Organization. Well, regardless of what floats your boat (or as my friend Grey Wolf used to say -- "whatever sinks your ship") we do hope that one of our options suits your more personalized needs.

Submitting Your URL...

Of course this one is your A-Typical KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) Rule option. You email your website name and url to xpresitnet [at] gmail [dot] com, I look it over, make sure it's truly a useful website and that it's not loaded to the hilt with spyware, porn or other undesired / illegal things, add it into the engine and thats that.

Contributor Access...

Now heres a fun one. Maybe you don't just run a website or two. Maybe you run a website or TWENTY and you know of 500 more because you're a walking, talking human hard drive with more knowledge in your head than the local library. Well, we've got something special just for people like you.

Email us about 25 urls from your vast knowledgebase of wisdom to xpresitnet [at] gmail [dot] com and I'll look them over to make sure that they are as magical as you're making them out to be. If your uber elite knowledge and research mad skills end up panning out, you'll be given direct access to this search engine to add urls until you're blue in the face and your fingers fall off.

BBS Crawler Exchange

Aside from url submissions, you might also elect to join the BBS Crawler Exchange. If we accept your url (and if we don't of course we'll be polite and explain why it didn't make it in) then you'd be accepted by default into the Exchange (if you wanted to participate, that is. We don't force anything on anyone). One of the cool things about this exchange is that every single BBS Crawler Network Member Service Page is joined to it by default. So your banner would get uber visibility just from that. So, you might want to consider it.

Join as a Network Member

This one is a bit harder to pull off because Network Membership is horribly specialized. I mean, feel free to give it a shot. Never hurts to try. First however, I think we should explain exactly what this means and how it's different from simply submitting a url. You'll notice that under the "BBS Crawler Search Network" option in the upper right, a drop box comes down with a bunch of options.

This is similar to how Google normally works (ie: web, groups, images, video, etc..). With a key difference. Seeing as BBS Crawler is about making quality content available to everyone as opposed to trying to re-invent the wheel, each section tends to be based (with few exceptions) purely on other websites.

To give you a better idea: The Worlds Largest Jewelry Search Engine is run by Joseph's Jewelers (who is a business client of mine). The music search comes from Legal Music Search (dot com). Textfiles.com is an unwitting participant in the fact that we've decided to spider and promote his stuff, which is why the url is at bbscrawler.com and not textfiles.com.

We also enforce an "other search options" list at the bottom for other related search sites and things of that nature. So if you feel you run a similarly specialized service then feel free to let us know. It doesn't have to be in demand, it just has to be cool and creative. It also requires you to have your own search engine in most cases. If you don't have one but you've got a lot of content to spider, then we'll give you a Google Custom Engine and grant you Contributor Access to it.

You will also be required to either have a Fully Qualified Domain Name (ie: yourname.com) or if you have a hostname from a DNS Service (ie: yourname.dns-service.ext) you'll need to be able to create a second one to be able to append onto your first one (ie: search.yourname.dns-service.ext).
